PRACTICAL, BIBLICAL GUIDANCE FOR FAMILIES - 2

FAMILY VALUES

GOD'S INVENTION -
1.) Gen 2:20-25 - Even in Eden, no one was happy alone.
2.) Gen 1:28 - The family commissioned: A man & woman to be fruitful & rule the earth.
3.) Notice that the family was invented before government or even church.

MISBELIEFS OF THE MODERN WORLDLY VIEW (And it's been "modern" for thousands of years!)
1.) Men - a.) Over-commit to job, at the expense of family relationships. OR:
b.) Remain a child and have lots of expensive toys, play men's sports, etc.
2.) Women - a.) Forsake domestic duties, seeing them as menial and repressive.
b.) Indulge in materialism: buy lots of worldly clothes and trinkets.
3.) Kids - a.) Your parents are from a less-evolved generation, and are therefore clueless. The TV and the computer have made you smarter.
b.) You're entitled to freedom without responsibility. (Or: responsibility is for suckers & nerds.)

HOW YOU CAN WIN:
1.) 1 John 4:4 - You have overcome the world, because greater is HE (Christ) who is in you than HE (Satan) who is in the world.
2.) 2 Peter 1:3-4 - God's given us all we need to live right: through his precious promises and instructions in the bible.
